On Saturday 25th May, Ashbourne hosted a fun-filled outdoor cinema event that delighted attendees of all ages. Under the starry sky, families gathered to watch ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ (2018) on a huge blow-up cinema screen, just like we were at the movies.
The Big Screen @ Ashbourne event featured a vibrant setup with colourful beanbags and the irresistible aroma of freshly popped popcorn and hot chocolates, making for a truly magical evening. It was great to see so many guests arrive prepared for the crisp, open-air temperature, relaxing in beanies, cosy oodies and ugg boots under some warm Ashbourne blankets.
The family-friendly atmosphere was lively and welcoming with kids playing together, dancing to the movie’s soundtrack and just having fun.
Beyond our immediate community, it’s clear that the spirit of Ashbourne has captured those from the wider local area too. It was wonderful to see people mingling, exchanging stories and sharing in the pure joy of Mary Poppins.
The feedback from those who attended on the night warmed our hearts. With many appreciating the opportunity to spend quality time with family and neighbours, it marked the beginning of a true Ashbourne community.
Overall, our first outdoor cinema night was a big success, and we look forward to hosting more events that continue to build and strengthen friendships among the community.
