The highly anticipated Bong Bong Picnic Races returned to the Southern Highlands on 24 November in a joyous celebration of fantastic horse racing and community spirit that locals have eagerly waited for three long years.
The overcast weather couldn’t dampen our excitement to host guests. From future Ashbourne residents, winners of ticket giveaways, local business and organisation representatives, the exclusive Ashbourne marquee was buzzing with people mingling, fantastic food and cheering on the horses and riders together.
We had the pleasure of sponsoring Race 1, which saw the magnificent win by Feng, ridden by talented jockey Wayne Wheatley. What a well-earned win!
The festivities didn’t end there for us, we would also like to congratulate the winners of our first ‘Fash-bourne’ on the Field – a display of style and elegance with Chris claiming the title of the best dressed and Kristy for out winning everyone on the best headpiece. Everyone was dressed to the nines and didn’t let a little rain ruin the fun.
The Bong Bong Picnic Races are the heart of Moss Vale’s social scene, and our team were beyond thrilled to support the return of such a cherished event. We are already looking forward to returning to the track in 2024!
